Loreto, only a 1 hour
and 40 minute flight from LAX, is located approximately 821 miles
from Los Angeles and 700 miles south of San Diego. Loreto was the
original capital of all the Californias and in 1997 celebrated its
300th anniversary. Even with so many years in existence, Loreto
remains true to its cultural heritage and is unspoiled by large
crowds.

Loreto is often described
as a sleepy little fishing village that is the nature lovers
paradise. The clear blue waters of the Sea of Cortez and all its
marine life provide snorklers and scuba divers underwater beauty
unlike any other.
The nearby Sierra de la
Giganta mountains provide opportunities for mountain biking,
hiking, and horseback rides. Fishing is still the main attraction
of Loreto, with world record catches of Dorado, Tuna, and Sailfish
from the nearby islands being recorded here. In fact, the world
record holder for Wahoo has been a valued guest of the Hotel Oasis
for many years.
